The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has released the official payment schedule for April 2025. Beneficiaries receiving old age pensions, disability grants, child support grants, and the SRD relief grant are advised to take note of the dates below to plan accordingly.

April 2025 Payment Schedule

The following payment dates have been confirmed by SASSA for April 2025: Older Persons Grant — 2 April 2025. Disability Grant — 3 April 2025. All Other Grants (including child support and foster care) — 4 April 2025. SRD R370 Grant — payments are processed on a rolling basis throughout the month, depending on the payment method selected by the beneficiary.

How Grants Are Paid

Grants can be received via South African Post Office (SAPO), a SASSA card at any participating ATM or retailer, or directly into a personal bank account. SASSA encourages beneficiaries to use bank account deposits where possible to reduce queuing and ensure faster access to funds.

What to Do If Your Payment Is Late

If your grant does not appear on the scheduled date, SASSA advises beneficiaries to wait 24 hours before contacting the helpline. You can reach SASSA on their toll-free number 0800 60 10 11, available Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:00. Alternatively, visit your nearest SASSA office with your identity document.

Updating Your Banking Details

Beneficiaries who wish to update their banking details can do so at any SASSA office, via the SASSA online portal at sassa.gov.za, or by calling the helpline. Changes typically take one payment cycle to reflect. SASSA warns the public to be vigilant of fraudsters who offer to update banking details on behalf of beneficiaries.
